Wow! I wish I could read deutsche...A friend brought a 2002/2003 Frankonia catalog to the range tonight and it's awesome! For those of us here in the US, think Cabella's with a great deal of emphasis on all the target/sport shooting disciplines. Just about all the target guns from every european manufacturer were there, including many you don't see over here, and almost all the US guns were featured as well. There were many Frankonia specials in this book, such as IZH 35's with nice looking laminated (Rink?) grips and weight rods, and 4 different target versions of the Ruger GP100(!), with heavy barrels, target sights, barrel ribs, and target grips! The quality of all the photography was pretty spectacular as well. If you get the chance, have a friend bring you back a copy from Germany!

If you think the catalog is cool, you should visit an actual Frankonia store. :)

While the catalog is terrific, it won't do a shooter in the U.S. much good anymore. After years of dealing with Franconia, I tried to order some support equipment -- no firearms or ammunition -- from them in 2004. They responded thanking me for my business, but advising that due to liability concerns they were no longer shipping to the U.S.
