Who sell the Hammerli AP 40 in the U.S.A

Post by somewhereinla »

The Hammerli AP 40 is one of the AP I am considering getting... I googled it, and could find a store that sells it. Does anybody know. Also does anyone know what price it is?

Thanks.

www.airgunsofarizona.com has it listed under Beeman. I know nothing about the company at all except that I looked at their website.

Dwight

Sorry, I'm wrong. I found the FWB P40 not the Hammerli. I think the whole Hammerli thing is really up in the air (no pun intended) at the moment. They made some poor engineering choices on many of their newer guns and now they have been sold to Walther. I don't even know if they will have a line of guns to sell. Larry in Main at www.larrysguns.com should be the very best source for solid information.

sorry for the goof!

Not sure about their other guns, but all the reviews (most of them from Europe) I have read so far on the Hammerli AP 40 have been very good. I haven't made my mind up on what to buy yet, and the Anschutz LP@ is on the top of my list right now, but I am very curious about the AP 40.

The Hammerli AP40 may well be an excellent gun - I know nothing about it - but if there is little/no support for it in the U.S. I would stay away from it.

Mannis is right, if you have no support in the US for Hammerli you should perhaps consider something else.
However, it is a very nice pistol, especially if you put a barrellweight just in front of the trigger guard. Really good balance and weight!
I have one myself and I'm so very happy with the support we get in Sweden with Hammerli pistols, the retailer here is way superior to any other retailer. They fix just about everything for nothing in no-time!

Larry Carter sells them, and services them, here in the US, and does a good job of it.

He did not have any AP40's in stock as of last week, however.

Hammerli has been taken over by Walther but they still design their own pistol.

The AP40 has indeed a good reputation. One drawback is that Hammerli are difficult to service due to the use of graphite pins instead of screw.

Hammerli has just annouced a new version of the AP40 called the AP40 Balance:
http://www.carl-walther.info/dev2/index ... roduct=961 (sorry, its is German, try Bablefish translation). I do not know the difference compared to the previous AP40.

And another guy selling the AP40: http://www.brenzovich.com/hammerli_airpistols.htm
