Help me choose a Free Pistol - Pardini K22 or Morini 84
As an owner of several Pardinis, I'm drawn to the K22 out of brand loyalty, but here in Australia they are more expensive than the Morini, to the tunes of $400. The Morini, on paper, looks to be a better gun - ie. electronic trigger etc
I've handled a K22 but not a Morini. The K22 feels nice but the grip did'nt seem to be able to adjust for a nice snug fit - which I presume, is essential for Free Pistol.
So, which one do I go for? ( and don't say buy both ! )

Morini vs. Pardini freepistol
I'd go for the Morini.CM84e
Last year all major events was won with this pistol.
i did not see any Pardinis in these finals.
(but several Toz'es)

Use the Targettalk search tool and you will find a very interesting review of the K22 called "First Impressions of the Pardini k22 Free pistol" (or similar) by Nicole Hamilton. She explains her rationale quite well. I love Pardinis too. If I had to chose today I'm sure I'd go with the Pardini. People who feel this way are in the minority. But, you'll want to read that article first. PS: You can always get a Rink grip.
I think that statements without reasons should be forbidden...
I'm no FP specialist, but there are several in my club (representing some 84E's and two K22), and physics are the same all over the world. Without having the opportunity of testing both of them extensively, I'd probably go for the Morini. While looking at the world class shooters is not always a good idea, there must be a reason why nearly everyone who upgrades from a TOZ goes for the Morini. IMHO, the 84E seems to follow the idea of concentrating balance point, trigger and chamber in a small space better than the K22. The K22 I've seen offers not much variability in terms of balance, I think there were Pardini mods presented here on TT with shortened barrels. The 84E seems pretty heavy to me in its basic mod, but not too nose-heavy, which is nice. My 84E has the 2-stage trigger, which is optional, but works fine for me. AFAIK this not available for the K22. As for the grip, that's going to change anyway in a very short time as soon as you start shooting, so don't put too much emphasis on that, as long as the basic parameters are ok - good reachability of the trigger, angle, basic volume. The electronics do need some space in the 84E grip, so not every angle can be realized, and shooters with very small hands tend to have holes in the inner/lower part of the grip... I heard that Morini can do a electronic mod without the fixed board, but their willingness to do such things usually depends on their opinion about "your score", so don't count on it unless you can do 560.

I have the smallest available Rink grip for my 84E (Extra small) and I can adjust the grip a lot. Of course there are no holes in the grip. But then again, when I had the original grip that HAD a whole lot of holes in it (it looked like it was about to break any second) I raised my personal best to 565 with it on a competition this summer. Can't wait to see what the new small grip can do for me (now it fits, hehe).
When it comes to free pistol there are two options: Toz or Morini.

Thank you everyone for your responses. After reading Nicole Hamilton's excellent review on the K22,and being a brand loyalist, I've gone ahead and ordered one. I'm sure it will be very happy with my SP New, HP New, SP1, K2S and GT9Len wrote:As an owner of several Pardinis, I'm drawn to the K22 out of brand loyalty, but here in Australia they are more expensive than the Morini, to the tunes of $400.
