I am 13 and have been shooting precision for a little over a year. I just recently got a smallbore precision rifle and I have only shot it about 10 or 11 times. I have gone to Bowling Green KY for the last two summers [first summer was for sporter] and this past year I placed 3rd in J3, out of 2nd by two points, both days I shot 572/600. A few days ago i shot in the JORC match and got an automatic invatation to Colorado.

22 been shooting smallbore since 10, competetivly since 12, though I didn't get serious till last year when I decided to upgrade.
1st rifle Anschutz model 64 good starting rifle for smaller people
2nd Anschutz model 1411 good starting rifle for larger people
3rd Walther kk300 alum. I wouldn't recomend getting for a new shooter
2007 Oregon state smallbore champion (iron sights)
I've also shot highpower, went to perry in 2000. 2nd place junior in the John Garand match....if anyone knows the kid who beat me by two X's it would be interesting to know if he shot a garand or an 03.
I prefer the walther to the anschutz. Price for one, I also prefer the trigger and the Centra front sight, though I'm not impressed with the MEC butt. I haven't shot the new anschutz but I did feel the trigger. I also like the fact that you can dry fire the walther without closing the bolt so you can save your firing pin.

Types of rifles
I have shot an older Anschutz since the early 60's, and it still shoots better than I do. I use it for 3/4-position and prone, although I hope to get my Win. 52D set up for prone matches soon. I also have an Anschutz 2002 Super Air for my air gun. I have had it for 4-5 years know. I like both real well and will not be buying anything in the future. Not worth the cost to get something newer that will not help me with picking up points at this stage of my life.
