Help for Disabled Shooter

Hi,

I am a disabled shooter and have recently taken up AP. I have a LP10 and need to get or make a stand to sit it in while I reload it. Preferably it would be in such a position to allow me to achieve the same grip every time as I pick it up.

Any help / ideas greatly appreciated.

Something built similar to this example should allow you to open and close the breech while the gun is in the stand - then pick up the gun with the same position and grip each time.

I have a similar stand built for a K2 that would function well for this. Place the gun in the stand, open the flip-top breech, insert a pellet, close the breech, and pick up the gun.

The left canted angle serves two purposes - 1. keeps the gun in its place and 2. provides a good pickup angle.

Rubber feet on the bottom of the stand will keep it from sliding around.

If you need to be able to operate the pistol with one hand, I think that perhaps the front portion should encircle the barrel, or at least have a portion that lies above it, to keep the barrel from rising when you open the loading latch, if it's one that swings up, like on my 162E. This would keep you from having to hold the gun down with the fingers of the same hand, as you open it.

For a while I used a sandbag from a benchrest barrel rest (liberally loaded with lead ). Being a lazy old bugger I used to frequently load my Lp 10 one handed . YMMV .
