Hi,
Can anyone tell me more about this LP10 I have come across

LP10 Gold Cup 2003

Sorry, I don't know much about it other than that this model (colour) has been made in only in small quantities.

Steyr made 100 of them to congratulate themselves for the performance of shooters using steyrs, I think Pilk said he sold 12 or 14 in the US, I got the last one :)

Interesting barrel weight? at the end of the cylinder !

That looks like a small barrel weight from an LP1/LP5. They used to make 2 sizes but, from memory, dropped the smaller one. It clamped onto the barrel shroud.

That's what I figures , I was juut surprised to see it on and LP10 since it has it's "own" weight system

I believe that the LP10 weights are steel. It could possibly have been easier to anodize the old style aluminium weights to the same colour as the shroud then to get the same colour from steel.

I have bought the gun now and...
The right answer is... brass.
The trigger shoe is also made of a brass casting.

It's no wonder then that it's only very narrow, it must be quite heavy.

A few minutes of careful grinding with a dremel can decrease that weight if you have a mind to. Just a suggestion---I wouldn't touch it myself thinking down the road---as possibly selling it and wanting it all to be pristine.

Still, not as bad as the original LP-1 weight which goes 50-55 gm. Maybe you can find one of the 'thin' LP-1 weights which ought to be ~ 25 gm.

Pistols are meant to be shot, not admired :-)

Right Fred, the weight we both have is 50 grams and the other smaller one that used to be offered was advertised as 25 grams.
