I was just curious....
After reading the thread re: AP "standard pistol" and AP rapid fire, what is a reasonable elapsed time from the start at the "ready" position to the breaking of the first shot?
On a similar note, what is a reasonable time for .22 RF first shot? Before packing up at the range the other day I tried a few starts (stopwatch in hand) and was usually in the 1.70 to 1.95 second range. Admittedly, there's a timing problem in that my stopwatch hand and my pistol hand are connected to the same brain, so my reaction time is artificially quick. I have a new-found respect for people who can get off 5 "tens" in 4 seconds.
I've posted a somewhat related question under another heading....
Thanks,
Tom

I aim for 1 second, maybe just a fraction over in the 4 sec string. That gives me time for one very minor sight adjustment. If you do the first in 1.7 - 1.8 you will be playing catch up for the remaining shots. That's closer to the first shot time for the 6sec string, where I aim for 2 seconds.
