Axel extractor S & W K-14

Post by Reinhamre »

I expected left hand thred but it was right hand thred.

Serie number : K279855 It does not have a stamp 14-1 like others in my club. Why is my gun different?

I gave about 450 US$ for the gun. It is nearly not used at all.

Prior to 1957, when Model numbers were introduced, that revolver was the K-38 Heavyweight Masterpiece. One of the manufacturing changes introduced in the late 1950's was reversing the thread on the extractor to avoid having it unscrew while in use, causing the cylinder to bind.
