My GSP did not have an auto-stay-open after-last-shot device. It was manufactured sometime in 1974 or 1975 (I bought it new in 1975). The crack in my bolt housing developed at the end of the cut-out for the cocking piece. A year or two ago, some one posted photos of a GSP bolt housing that had two such cracks, one on each side of the bolt housing. It would appear that Walther was aware of the problem and corrected it because the replacement housing I purchased had different machining in the area where the failures occurred. I have neither seen, nor heard of, cracking in the later bolt housings (although I have a somewhat limited area of contact - that being Canada and this TT board).

vintage GSP
I tested the very first prototypes of the GSP in the late 60s, 68 or 69 I recon. Mass production of the GSP started about 1970. The first runs had the "auto-stay-open-device".
Your GSP is about 4 to 5 years into the production. Your gun is then a "2. generation" GSP.

The last bit of info that I had heard from Mrs. Nygord was that Neal Stepp (ISS) Fort Worth, TX is or will be the new Matchgun dealer in the USA. 817-595-2090. Mrs. Nygord also told me that she sent her remaining MG1 and MG2 spare parts to Larry Carter in Maine. The Matchgun dealer in Canada is Illingsworth Imports http://www.airgunsonly.com/frames.html
Illingsworth does sell spare parts as well for the MG line.
