Hello All!

I am with a company that manufactures Ballistic Polymer targets. We have found that spending time on msg boards is a great way to stay in tune with what our fellow shooters want, with respect to the targets they use.

I recently discovered this board and one thing in particular caught my attention. There was a post (http://www.targettalk.org/viewtopic.php?t=12130) in which a student (Amanda) was asking for some ideas for a target changer that her class was working on. First, I was excited to see that the younger shooters are getting involved like this. Second, I was impressed with the feedback she received on this board.

So... here is a question I would like to pose to the group... One of our biggest hits this holiday season has been our Polymer P-Dog. Honestly, the demand even surprised us. What has surprised us even more is the requests we have received for other "life-like" shapes. We have decided to proceed with this, but would like to get a better idea of what everyone would like to see. If you have any suggestions about the P-Dog Project, or any of the other tagets, feel free to let me know.

Okay, okay..... we have had a few responses to this post via our website. Let's go ahead and rule out the ex-spouse polymer target. Although there is part of me that can certainly relate, I suspect that might cause more problems than it is worth.

In case you are curious, the most common suggestion so far is a cat target.

I'd like to shoot both of them, still might before the holidays are over.

Do you use Tannerite?

We don't use Tannerite with our Ballistic Polymer targets, but we have certainly used it. No doubt about it, Tannerite is fun to shoot!

I wasn't able to go myself, but the owner of Just Shoot Me Products was talking about attending the annual Snowman Shoot at Sandburr Gun Ranch in Rochester a few years ago. They have snowmen all over the place, and some (you don't know which ones) are loaded with Tannerite. I guess it is quite a site to see those poor snowmen explode!

One product I would like to see would be a very low cost version of your material in sheet form for use as target number backers for our range.

The material would not have to take very many hits, just the occasional splatter or limited number of shots by some "deviant" until somebody can catch them.

Other materials (wood, metal, etc) will show the bullet hole, prompting the offenders to continue shooting to destroy the target numbers. We don't even leave them out anymore and have to put them up for each match. If they can't see that they hit it, it may help. In addition, wood and other plastics do not hold up well in the weather.

What can you supply in say 8 inch by 8 inch sheets in black / white or other colors that we could paint or have vinyl numbers put on?

Trucks not perfect, but back running I'm starting to look for a replacement for it.

I think I understand your dilemma. Our Ballistic Polymer would certainly be able to withstand any weather and any shots it would receive, however, vinyl and paint will not adhere to our materal. Currently there is not an adhesive that works with our polymer.

I was wondering... How high do your numbers go? Would it be possible to use colors, rather than numbers?
