Air front sight width.
There has been not much reporting on this subject.
It appears 4.5 - 5 mm is the acceptrd standard for such.
What are the arguments to go bigger or smaller?
Smaller = more precision/more apprehension of shot.
Bigger = less presision/easier release.

As I understand it it is generally perceived that a foresight the same size as the entire black is about right. It depends on the discipline and I'm sure my free pistol sight is bigger than the black, my AP is about right though.
I think it is the rearsight width or rather the notches that are more critical to the 'over precision' problem rather than the foresight width. Thereafter it's down to personal preference and what feels best or better still works best.
