Steyr filling adapter on FX hand pump

Post by Axel »

Hi,

I have a question regarding the FX air pump and a Steyr filling adapter. I can screw it in on the pump by hand about one turn, but after that its very tight. Is this normal? Some silicon grease will help? I dont want to use excessive force by a tool, I'm afraid I'll destroy the threads?!

Can it be a different thread standard like inch-thread or european mm-thread? Anyone heard about this problem before?

Confused...

Nevermind, it fits very nice now. :-) I did put on some sillicon grease on the threads.

o-ring lube

Helo, Axel.
If I am not mistaken, the manual advices applying a litle grease to the o-ring. I think the FWG acid-less grease is a proven product.
That was greasing of the o-ring, nut the threads, by the way. But who cares?

I hope you did'nt fill up two cylinders back to back. That is not good for the pump to get so hot
