Training/Certifications for Future Coaches
Training/Certifications for Future Coaches
What certification options are out there for retired NCAA rifle athletes who are interested in coaching in the future? Would prefer online options, but open to hearing about all opportunities. TIA.
Re: Training/Certifications for Future Coaches
NRA has a coaching webpage. There are basically 3 levels. They are also discipline specific.
Coach
Certified Coach
Advanced Certified Coach
Coach is basically a two day school with a test. Certified coach is the school + First Aid & CPR and a coaching fundamentals course through Human Kinetics. The class is sort of like a 3cr. college course and it's all online. The first aid through American Red Cross is mixed delivery. You do some online & some in person.
The Advanced Certified requires another advanced discipline specific class and you have to earn a sharpshooter or better classification in that discipline.
You can search of a coach class at this link.
