Okay, I normally do not find myself making this kind of post, but I have to ask; has anyone else noticed how much Orion now costs? It seems like the renewal fee is going up by $20 every year; it was $160 tonight when I renewed for our club. What I find crazy though is that they now want $600 for a new club to join. Just for the license...
My memory says that there use to be a $40 difference between a renewal and a new member; however last year I think it was around $450 for a club to join Orion for the first time which is still quite the steep fee.
Thoughts? Are they under new ownership? I realize they are the only game in town and it is helpful for our matches, but I am getting concerned about the fees going up every year.

Re: Cost of Orion, Keeps Going Up
Only an opinion - no data to back this up:
1) Orion is the part of the company that funds the Athena stuff
2) A lot of the JROTC programs are using Athena, so more help desk support required ... so, back to #1.
I will say that when ORION first came out, it was a heck a a lot better than plugging holes. So I don't regret getting it.
Very rarely use it now that we have Megalinks though.
