FWB P44 probe 0-ring
I got the impression that my P44 was shooting inconsistently* so checked it with a chronometer. Two 10-shot strings using 7gr RWS basic pellets:
Mean 328fps 325fps
ES 40 57
SD 17 17
FWB documentation indicates factory velocity of 150 M/s, which is 492 fps: The gun is shooting very slow, about 65% of nominal
Borrowing a test from air rifle, I shot the pistol with a 1" patch of paper towel sitting over the chamber where the probe inserts. Sure enough the patch goes flying, indicating an air leak between the probe and the chamber.
The manual calls for 4mm X 1mm o-ring on the probe so I ordered some. Anything else I should look at?
Thanks

Little bit of lube when you put the new O ring on.

Re: FWB P44 probe 0-ring
Silicone grease only as lube.
Re: FWB P44 probe 0-ring
Silicon is great for O-rings, but not much else. Get a small tube of SuperLube synthetic grease, which works just as well on O-rings, and can also be used on things like cylinder threads.

Re: FWB P44 probe 0-ring
My favorite is Festo Pneumatic assembly grease.
Re: FWB P44 probe 0-ring
So the O-ring from Amazon isn't correct - much smaller than the one on the probe. FWB P44 exploded diagram indicates "O Ring 4.0 x 1.0 – 4.9.0001".
This is the undersize Amazon O : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09CL3VZ6L?re ... title&th=1
Does someone know which O-ring to get?
Thanks

This is the genuine one, but shipping is more than the seal so I would order several or other stuff to make it worthwhile.

Re: FWB P44 probe 0-ring
Metric O-rings are usually specified by the internal diameter & cross-section. The FWB spec follows that convention. The O-rings from Amazon have a 4 mm outside diameter.KDZ wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2024 12:08 pm So the O-ring from Amazon isn't correct - much smaller than the one on the probe. Figure out which seal you need here - https://www.feinwerkbau.de/en/service/d ... ftpistolen
Then can order just a seal or entire seal kit from SportShootingDepot (FWB dealer) - http://sportshootingdepot.com
