Laser Pistols?

I’m under the impression that pentathlon is now mostly shot with laser pistols. I realize that these are probably seen as the beginning of the end of real shooting by many. Have these been developed to the level that they are useful for practice when you can’t shoot air pistol or .22 or are they only just good enough for hit or miss type targets?

Yes they have but the target systems are like hens teeth at the moment if you want to try one out, funny you should bring this up as we have a Pentathlon athlete that has just joined our club to convert to shooting air on our electronic targets so there is some movement between the two. She is finding it no difficulty and is very good, but we have been pulling her leg that we expected her to be running out of the range now and then for a run up the road to the traffic lights and back.
