FAS SP602 Parts?
A friend has a FAS 602 with a broken trigger spring (part #122). Although he may be able to make one, he has only a piece of it.
Does anyone know where he might be able to get that part? I checked Domino's web site in Italy, but it looks like they only deal with airguns now.
Thanks!

Re: FAS SP602 Parts?
Greetings,
Check with Neal Stepp at ISS in Texas.
He had a lot of spares for the FAS.
Might get lucky.
Cheers,
David

Ah! Excellent idea! Neal is always a great resource, but I wasn't aware that he had FAS stuff.
Re: FAS SP602 Parts?
If that fails, that drawing looks to be at scale. Shouldn't be difficult to bend a new spring to that approximated shape.
Hope this helps

Re: FAS SP602 Parts?
It looks like a bent paper clip might work. They work wonders on my TOZ 35.
Re: FAS SP602 Parts?
I suspect a piece of music wire will hold up better. It looks like it takes some digging to install, so a robust repair is worth the extra effort. He's got enough left to measure the wire size, it's a question of whether he can bend one without having to soften & re-harden the wire. It creates part of the trigger pull, so it needs to flex and spring back consistently.
Hopefully he can get an original from ISS.

Greetings,
Music Wire is already hardened.
Once you bend the spring to shape, stress relieve it in the oven at 450 degrees F for 30 minutes.
I have lots of Music Wire. I can send you some short pieces via USPS if needed.
Cheers,
Dave

Re: FAS SP602 Parts?
Thanks for the stress relief process. I hadn't heard of that dodge. There is a sharp bend on one need that might be too much to form in its hardened state without snapping.
I haven't heard back if my friend had luck with Neal. I have lots of music wire, and for the amount he needs, I think a decent hobby shop or hardware store often has it in 1 foot lengths.

Great source of Piano wire, all sizes both Imperial and metric.

Re: FAS SP602 Parts?
That's a supplier I wasn't familiar with. K&S Precision sells lots of good stuff in small quantities. It sure beats buying music wire in 1/4 pound coils from McMaster Carr.

This guy has a lot of FAS stuff: domino6002@gmail.com (aka Mr. Mencarelli Raffaele)

Try checking GunBroker. Also Consider reaching out to a gunsmith who specializes in older or more obscure firearms. They may have some leads on where to find FAS SP602 parts.
