Recommendations on an "intermediate" 3P adult jacket?
I'm rediscovering 3P smallbore shooting as a hobby, about 10 years after I last shot competitively in college. I'm currently using an old Freeland jacket which I purchased new at commercial row at Camp Perry way back in 1999 as a junior.
The jacket is in surprisingly good shape for being so old, but I the fit is really sloppy around the waist, and the arms are like sewer pipes. This isn't much of an issue in prone, but can be pretty annoying shooting offhand. I've experimented a bit with the button placement, but this hasn't helped very much.
Can anyone recommend a good "intermediate" jacket? While I could certainly afford a full-out made-to-measure setup, that would just be a stupid purchase for someone like myself who's just shooting as a hobbyist. One jacket that caught my eye is the Anschutz Match #164 jacket. Can anyone comment on the overall fit, especially in the arms?
Thanks guys!

Re: Recommendations on an "intermediate" 3P adult jacket?
Hi Trax -
I use this exact jacket, purchased from Larry Sawyer about two years ago. They are made in Pakistan, according to the label on the inside of the jacket. At first, the armpit areas felt as if they were cut a little 'high'. I very nearly returned the jacket, because it didn't feel 'right'. I shoot smallbore prone, with a small amount of standing air rifle on the side.
After about a month or so of using it, it broke in just fine. It is a single layer of canvas, with perforated leather in some areas, and perforated Amara in others. I wear a sweatshirt underneath of it, and of course, the buttons are adjustable.
Hope that helps.

dc.fireman / Maxicooper -- can you guys share any pictures of the arm and shoulder fitment on these jackets?
The only picture that I've seen on this jacket is this one.

What exactly would you like to see?
I'm practicing on Monday, and will have the ability for someone to take a few photos. Let me know what info you'd like to capture, and I'll do my best to get it for you.

Basically, I'd like to see how tightly the shoulders, arms, and cuffs fit. One good picture to get would be a close-up of the cuff area when you're wearing a shooting glove.dc.fireman wrote:What exactly would you like to see?
Thanks in advance! :)

I am interested as well. How does the sizing run?
Does anybody have any experience with Creedmore Sports offerings?

I know that I wear a size Euro 52 in the Gehmann coat, and the Anschutz was pretty similar, except for the aforementioned armpit area. I wear a medium thickness sweatshirt underneath it, and the fit is 'snug' - but not uncomfortably so. I've never used an NRA/Highpower styled coat, so I can't compare the two.left360 wrote:I am interested as well. How does the sizing run?

We will practice this Sunday, 2/7. You will see it better if you see it in person.trax wrote:dc.fireman / Maxicooper -- can you guys share any pictures of the arm and shoulder fitment on these jackets?
