FWB 300S (sort of) problem

I have a Chinese knock-off of a FWB 300S. The last time I used it, which was a number of years ago, it worked pretty well. Recently I had it out and wanted to look at the condition of the breech seals so I pulled the cocking arm all the way back. Now it is solidly locked in the open position. No matter what I have tried I cannot get the action to close. Any suggestions on a fix or how to troubleshoot the problem would be greatly appreciated.
