Hand Measurements and Grip Modifications

Has anyone worked out the measurements on your hand to the correct proportions on the grip? Like the distance between the center of the hand to the base of fingertips? Width between thumb and trigger finger? I'm sure not a perfect science but something to get you in the ballpark with a new grip.

I'm about to order a grip for my AP-20 from Rink. Their sizing app considers most of those parameters with the exception of the length of palm as a specific measurement. Regardless of the manufacturer, there will be the need to adjust the fit further with filing and/or putty.

I'm wondering if truly custom grips may be on the horizon with 3D digital modeling and 3d printing. I mention this because I'm having two dental crowns made and my dentist did a digital 3D model of my entire mouth that will be 3D printed and used to make the crowns. I'm told that I can have the 3D printed model of my entire mouth when the process is done......hmmm. Not certain I want that on my bookshelf.

The team I work with has purchased quite a few grips from them. It's mostly been for older pistols that are not supported by other grip vendors, like PGP-75 free pistols.

If you have a grip you have filed and puttied to perfection, then can also scan it, and make an identical grip for a wide range of pistols.
