I have seen a curtain backstop for air guns on portable ranges.
Does anyone know if there is a curtain that can be used for .22 lr? It would be as a backup to a bullet trap.
Thank you

I can't think of any curtain-like material that would stop a 22LR that wouldn't be prohibitively expensive. Just think of how expensive and heavy a blanket-sized bullet-proof vest would be.
I'd be happy to learn of a product out there that fits this criteria, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Not exactly a curtain but Some of the collegiate teams are using a temporary wall made of plywood laminated with sheet metal. This is for use as a portable range. The sheet metal is minimal thickness to do the stopping. The plywood keeps it from splattering.

You might check out some of the bullet traps which utilize shredded rubber. They are quiet. You might also consider sheet steel of various thicknesses which will contain a .22lr fired at an angle to it, as in the wall or ceiling or floor.
Depending on the angle of incidence an occasional round will not penetrate, even if it dents.
