Singing in the Rain

Post by Hamster »

Sorry, I meant shooting in the rain. A constant experience here in sunny Vancouver. Rain forest doesn't begin to describe it. A few of us shoot ISSF Std and CF/Sport pistol regularly. We're under cover on the firing line, but the targets aren't. We have to use simple target stands made from corrugated plastic board stapled to two wooden 1 x 2s. I've fabricated a target hood from foam board and duct tape, and it works, tho becoming sodden over the course of a match. Has anyone else from a wet climate devised a more elegant solution?

The roof sounds like a good idea, but I'd use "coroplast" instead. It won't get soggy.

Plastic snow fence stretched between posts, at the desired height. Clip targets to the fence. Once the fence is shot up, replace.
