Walther LP 500 - adjust the fastening rod

Post by nmondal »

Hi Team,
I got the rink grip.
Now it won't fit. Not in my hand and not even in the Walther.

Here is what I got from the Rink team:
====
i don't understand the problem!
The mounting with our grip is the same as with the original grip.
In our case, a solid square nut (not visible from the outside) is embedded, instead of the sleeve.
And our fastening screw sits exactly at a 90 ° angle on the fastening rod. The original comes from behind at a slight angle.
You have to adjust the fastening rod (with the screw from below) after mounting the grip!
Please read the manual!
====
Any idea how to adjust the fastening rod?
Apparently this is the one.

And it is incredibly tight.
Anyone did that before? I am at a complete loss here, so Any help would be appreciated.
Also using the grip does this to my hand.

No clue, but just a thought - but do you need a separate "lateral fixing screw" ?

I found this on Buinger: (see red URL links at bottom) https://buinger.com/Rink-grip-for-Walther-LP400-LP500

I did not need the grip swiveling - so I did not need it I think. Also I told Thomas Rink sir about my current Pistiol Version.
he did not mention it, but thanks!

FYI there's nothing special about that lateral fixing screw. You can get one at any hardware store. I swapped mine with an anodized titanium one for extra sex appeal. Either way, it's just a regular old metric screw, M5 I think.

Your new grip doesn't fit? Now that's a real shocker!!!

Please keep it quiet, since there are a lot of guys on here that are convinced that buying a new grip instead of spending a few minutes tweaking their present one will send them soaring into the exalted realms of Olympic glory. Let's keep alive the idea of "buying points" and thus perk up the economy.

Funny, but I was thinking about this subject before I looked at this thread. I thought, "How long will these guys have to work to pay for these imperfectly fitting grips?", instead of spending a few minutes (as you'll need to do) with file and putty.

Hmmm?

What do you mean not even in my hand?

I removed the screws and the old one came off. Just slided on the rink grip and it fits.
Not sure why it would not fit .......
