Morini CM 162 MI
no-name pellets
Scored on Megalink
M44

My first full "match" shot after breaking my ribs on a field shooting stage in early June. Pleased to see that despite very reduced training the results did not fall back.

Started off the month with this good score and then struggled for a week or two. Happy any time I can break the 570 mark, so I'll take it. I've been feeling better the last few sessions, 568-572-ish.
Then last night I had a pretty incredible session. I ended up scoring a 571, so it's not posted here, but in 60 shots, I scored zero 8s. That's the first time I've ever managed to do that in my training, so it's almost like that is more of a victory than the 576 which included an embarrassing number of stray shots.
I got my LP500 in February, replacing my FWB P44. The LP500 is a spectacular gun, but I still prefer the trigger fit and action on the P44. It seems my ideal pistol would have the grip fit and shot impulse of the LP500 and the trigger of the FWB.

Also, the local AP league is starting back up tomorrow after an absence since 3/2020. We'll see if the good scores I've been shooting at my home range hold up under competitive pressure.

Still dreaming of when that will happen. Even when shooting 570+ I’m still shooting 8’s……would be soooo satisfying to get all shots within the 9…

A point short of PB. Was hard to get going; used up 30 sighting shots, went halfway into 2nd serie when found out the Megalink target is glitching. First shot what I called a low 9 but it registered as 0.0. Incredible enough but I had no way to tell. Then a registered 2.8, this time I could see the white part of the target was pristine. Had to change the target and restart the whole match.

McMadCow, if 576 is legit, why are you screwing around with local club league? Get a coach & go kick some international ass.

Putting "576" in perspective:

2020 TOYKO OLYMPICS qualifier:
1. Saurabh, India: 586-28x
2. Zhang, China: 586-18x
3. Reitz, Allemang: 584-21x
4. Korostylov, Ukraine: 581-15x
5. Foroughi: 580-25x (GOLD)
6. Kim, Korea: 579-20x
7. Pang, China: 578-22x
8. Mikec, Serbia: 578-21x

Missing finals:
9. Joseph, : 578-13x
10. JAMES HALL, USA: 577-23x
11. Cherhousov, Russia: 577-15x
12. Enkhtaivan: 577-8x
MCMADCOW: 576! Outstanding!!!
13. NICK MOWRER, USA: 576-22x

James Hall missing finals by ONE integer point (tie-breaker X's would have put him 7th). Nick tossed TWO 8's in the last five shots, missing finals. Heart-breaker.

However, to read "576" in some postal match is at face value "dubious" for a 44 year old. However, if high-570's after "shooting for four months" is actual, perhaps, get actual competition experience.

We've been over this, I've been shooting for 7 years. I got my new gun four months ago.

And my posted scores are the best of literally 30 sessions in a month. Sometimes I shoot a 560, but I don't need to post that because the rules say I can post my best. I've already signed up for the local league and I'm planning to do some regional comps later this year, but I don't believe I can shoot a 570+ on demand. But the thing is, I never claimed I could. Go find someone else to bug.

Sometimes pointing out "Reality" is more fun.

Have no idea why we spent all that money sending those two clowns to Toyko, when we could have just invested in "McMAD Cow" to save the day!

Your "reality" looks like an intentional edit of something I said.
McMadCow wrote: Sat Jun 19, 2021 4:02 am I do plan on shooting in competitions when things open back up and I have no illusions that I can shoot a 577 on demand...
Again, never said I could. Go home, dweeb.

Yep, totally intentionally taken out of context! I'm actually trying to lend some encouragement to you, or anyone shooting at a very-high level. The future of the sport shall depend both on USA position internationally at the Top of the Podium, as well as locally youth or new shooters trying to barely break 500 (or 400.)

Coaching, clinics, 4-H, and similar should be encouraged; whereas, the horrific political-pussification of guns/shooting/firearms and dumbing-down/indoctrination of the youth should be stomped out - for the Future of a Nation. Hence, AP league goes a long way.

Best of luck to you McMadCow & hopefully in 3 years we'll see USA on the podium in Paris.

I think you have a weird way of encouraging people…unless you are trolling you might want to rethink your encouraging strategies…

Not bad, but now I need to figure out if those 8s are just me or because my kids are running around screaming and breaking my concentration.

I haven’t been able to do much shooting (or anything) for the last two months because of work and medical reasons. Maybe once I get some more trigger time, I can tighten that group up.

The rules of this competition were the best 60 shot match you can do in a months time. Are you hoping to get the rules changed, slag on the achievements of others, or just ruin this because you don't submit your scores? I am thinking the latter.

I know my scores can vary by 20 points, and I sure don't send in my worst score.

..aand beat my PB with 1 point. Had a potential to wander into 540s, but made a mistake of flipping through the news after the 4th serie.
