Air pistols used at the Olympics?
Looking at footage of the 10m AP finals, individual and mixed, it seems that the most popular air pistol by far is the e-trigger Steyr EVO10. Used by about 95% of the competitors, I think.
I'm a bit surprised by this as I thought that e-triggers were not that popular by shooters at this level...

The winner of the men's final used a mechanical trigger.

What? No Izh46?
Re: Air pistols used at the Olympics?
I bought the e-trigger FWB 90 when it first came out. I fired my highest score ever with it.
I loved the trigger, best I've ever used, but it was somewhat unreliable (failed twice on me) and went down the road.
If I ever stumble over one cheap, I believe I'd go for the Morini electric doohickey.

I do not think so but looks to me like;
gold: Foroughi(IRI) Styer
silver: Mikec(SBR) Walther
bronze: Wei(CHN) Morini
Did anyone hacked the web server to replace the images of Walther and Morini with Styer?

I think, a national team at the size of India and with such great expectations, should have a very competent technician in the olympic delegation, sitting very close to the Russian coach.
Secondly, why not an athlete at the level of Manu B. has two identical pistols (not a spare one). This may sound ridiculous but considering the efforts put for an olympic medal (and maybe the entire nation counts on it), I cant help saying, why not. Though, not sure whether it is possible to configure both pistols identically so that they will feel the same.

Seems strange, we already know money doesn't buy pointsLeon wrote: ↑Wed Jul 28, 2021 5:11 pm Looking at footage of the 10m AP finals, individual and mixed, it seems that the most popular air pistol by far is the e-trigger Steyr EVO10. Used by about 95% of the competitors, I think.

Electronic triggers are the work of the Devil
Re: Air pistols used at the Olympics?
I do not think we looked the qualifications, but I know ( watched many world cup in youtube ) some of these guys before and it boils down to:
1. Steyr EVO 10 ( Majority )
2. Morini 162 ( next Majority )
3. Pardini ( Minor )
4. Walther LP 400/500 ( very minor )
5. FWB P8X ( minuscule )
Almost no one shoots a Benelli now.

Umm.. Benelli's apparently still make some great 25M pistols.
And even at 10 M Air pistol:

Re: Air pistols used at the Olympics?
I can’t find anything in the rules saying it would not be allowed to have these stabilizer rods as long as it fit in the box. Match gun also have them on their air pistol (or used to?)atomicgale wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 7:21 amSo what's the deal with the stabilizer? Thought that was only for Olympic recurve bows.
1. Physical attributes?
2. Is it legal?
3. Equipment control: Would it fit "in the box"?
However no one seem to use them and probably for good reason. I think they are just in the way when you want to rest your gun on the bench but still hold it.
