Tucker Places Sixth in Women’s Air Rifle, Strong Olympic Debuts Across USA Shooting
Mary Tucker placed sixth in Women’s 10m Air Rifle at the 2020 Summer Olympic Games Saturday morning at Asaka Shooting Range in Tokyo, Japan.

After qualifying third earlier that day, the number two world ranked athlete and two-time individual NCAA Champion, scored a 9.8 on her second shot and 9.7 on her sixth shot which would have her fighting to remain in the running throughout the first two elimination rounds. She fended off Korea’s Kwon Eunji in a shoot off to ultimately claim her sixth place finish.

Tucker's Air Rifle Teammate, Alison Weisz, also made her Olympic debut this morning. The 2021 New Delhi World Cup Silver Medalist and Army Marksmanship Unit Shooter/Instructor, finished 14th in the qualification round with a score of 626.9. Both women will compete in the Mixed Team 10m Air Rifle Event on July 27. Tucker will also compete in the Women’s 50m Smallbore Rifle event on July 31.

In Men's Air Pistol qualification, James Hall made his first Olympic appearance finishing just one point out of finals contention. He finished 10th in qualification with a score of 577-23x.
