For those interested, I'm fairly certain it is fixed. I took it to a gunsmith friend and he agreed with my diagnosis that the Training/Fire switch was interfering with the striker movement. He used some Dykem to highlight the area and then relieved the interference by stoning the channel in the switch somewhat deeper on the edge toward the muzzle. The result was a completely free moving striker. I tested the pistol at two different velocity settings and the numbers look pretty good. Prior to the work the velocity adjustment had made little change but after the work the velocity change was quite considerable. I started with the velocity near 500 fps and got a Standard Deviation of 3.6 fps after throwing the first three shots out of the equation. I then brought the velocity down to around 440 fps and tested again. This time the Standad Deviation was at 3.5 fps. Prior to the work the Standard Deviation had been quite varied from 15.5 to 6.2 fps. Now it seems stable around 3.5 fps. Finally, I adjusted the velocity to 480 and will see how it shoots in competion within the next few days. Perhaps I can carry the new confidence in the equipment into my next sessions.
