I'm puzzled as to how to go about setting the trigger weight for 1st and 2nd stage on my AP.
Here is what I did, w/o knowing if it is the correct procedure.
- #1 made a crude weight out of a plastic bag w 300 grams of quarters on a loop of string. (I realize that this does not meet ISSF specs for a proper trigger weight.)
- #2 put the string in the center notch of the trigger shoe. (I had to remove the grip, as the grip interferred w the string.)
- #3 lifted the pistol, barrel vertical, and adjusted the 1st stage weight screw so the trigger moves at approx this weight. I am thinking that this is giving me the 1st stage weight.
- #4 increased the weight to 510 grams
- #5 lifted pistol vertical, adjusted 2nd stage weight screw so I can "just" lift 510 grams, and a touch on the trigger releases it.
thanks

procedure for setting AP trigger weight?

To set second stage. Try this !
With a 500g trigger weight, put the weight on a set of electronic scales.
Slowly lift the weight with the pistol (with weight set on trigger) and watch the weight on the scales reduce.
As you feel the second stage take up (needs a very good feel), the weight remaining on the scales is the second stage weight (or weight still left on the trigger to fire).
