CMP recently changed Rule 4.1.4, to permit the use of S&W Model 10 or 15 revolvers as Service Pistols. I don’t have a 1911 “hardball” gun. I’ve already got my Distinguished Revolver badge and like shooting revolvers. So I’m thinking of getting distinguished in service pistol with a revolver.
The catch is that Rule 4.4.1 states as follows:
“Service Pistol competitors may use any safe ammunition that is loaded with metal-jacketed or metal-plated bullets. Non-jacketed, wad-cutter or lead bullets may not be used.“
I’ve got a ton of load data for 50 yard Bullseye accurate lead bullets. Never loaded any jacketed bullets in .38 Special.
Any recommendations for good jacketed or plated .38 bullets? Load info?
I suspect a cheaper bullet would group fine at 25 yards, but maybe I need the more pricey bullets at 50 yards.
Any tips appreciated.

Speer makes some semi-wadcutter style jacketed bullets for nice clean holes.
