About how much should I be willing to pay for one. I am bidding on one that is on Gun Broker and wonder where I should stop. I like if mostly for the Cool Factor.

If what you're really about is "the Cool Factor," how can you ask anybody else to decide how much you need to pay to be "Cool"?

It's a thin market, so it's very hard to say what a "reasonable" price is. It shouldn't be viewed as an "investment" (it's not going to appreciate), so it's entirely a matter of how much pleasure ownership gives you...sort of like an expensive watch or nice suit. I think I've seen 3 (including this one) at auctions over the past 6 years. They only come along every few years. If you want one, is it worth "saving" $100 or $200 or $300 if another opportunity to get one doesn't surface again for another 5 years? Even if one comes up again, there's no guarantee that it will be any cheaper, and that is a nice example.

I already have a TOZ-35M and a brand new set of Rink Grips and bought Walthers LAST FP-500, so this would just be to own. I own a number of really expensive watches that don't keep as good time as my $50.00 Seko.

A new CM84E starts at about $1,900. More for two stage trigger, Light or Carbon.

Tom, it's a Rube-Goldberg contraption that even Cesare knew was past its sell-by date shortly after he built it - and a total orphan if anything more complicated than a coil spring or a pivot pin goes south.

Just going out on a limb here, but I'd say it has about 2% of the utility of a Patek Philippe or a really good suit. Sort of like having to buy a Morgan sports car when a Mazda Miata is better, and (if you can find one) a Honda S-2000 will put it to shame.

I quit at $1,000.00. It would have been worth it to me at that price but I can buy an As New CM84E for $1,600.00 so it would not make sense.
