Just bought a IZH-46m, Have a question

Sometimes,when it's pumped and loaded, soon as I close the breach down the gun goes off on its own. Anyone know why?

Sounds like your trigger needs adjusting. The sear engagement is probably too small.

I have a IZH that does that too. I know nothing about the internals, but I can tell you what I look for to prevent mine from doing that.

When you cock it, the loading latch isn't coming up and back far enough. I make it a point to pull that latch fully rearward as I insert the pellet. You'll feel and hear it click. Then it will work fine when the latch closes. If the loading latch doesn't catch and stay fully upright when cocking, it will blow off as you described.

I no doubt need to take it apart and put a dab of oil in there somewhere, I just don't think about it after I get home (shame on me).

Since it doesnt do it consistently, I figured it could be something I am not doing. I will keep an eye on that latch next time. If it still does that, I will adjust the B screw counter CW to give the sear more engagement, as suggested by the links in Gwhite's post.

I'm also new to the IZH, mine does the same thing. Every now and then.
I thought it was me, I thought when I shut the breach I must be hitting the trigger some how being careless.
Time to look at little deeper.

If it's a sear adjustment issue, you can check it dry firing. Aggshooter is correct, in that you may be "short stroking" it when cocking. You need to make sure the breech lever is coming all the way back until it clicks. When dry firing, it's easy to be more positive, but don't force the breech lever when it hits the stop. You can jam the sear, or worse, break things internally. Some of the students I have coached seem to think that if cocking it is good, cocking it HARD must be somehow better...

Basically, if you cock it and can get it to fire by tapping the top of the action with a wooden stick, you need more sear engagement. It can also help to take off the grips to see what is going on inside. There are nicely placed holes in the frame so you can observe all the pieces in motion.
