For those that are using a metric caliber pistol on the firing fine, is the consensuses heavy and slow or light and fast?
I got talked into shooting a bullseye league, I am a mediocre rifle shooter and a horrible pistol shooter. I have many (many) pistols and chose the one with the crispest rear sight, a S&W 986 custom shop revolver with a 1:18.75 twist, 5" barrel and a decent trigger.
I am shooting through a case of bulk Remington 115 grain and when I buy more I'd like to get something better for the situation. I know I will get the " what ever shoots the best in you pistol", but I thought I would ask.
Unfortunately I don't have time for load development and I don't think Rover will do the testing for me like he does with pellets.

ARE YOU BUYING OR LOADING AMMO?
Re: 9mm ammuntion for 25yd Bullseye
Jim,
I was hoping to buy preloaded ammunition.
I added the 1:18.75 twist rate information to my original post.

Home loading for our Service match.
125g SWC polycoated at 1000fps, nice groups at 25 & 50yds, average recoil.
Aim for a similar load.

I USED THEIR DISTINGUISHED PISTOL AMMO FOR YEARS WHEN I WAS ACTIVE IN PPC SHOOTING.
I WOULD LOOK AT THE 121GR OR 147GR 9MM FOR YOUR PURPOSE.
THE OWNERS WERE BOTH HIGH MASTER PPC SHOOTERS. THE WIFE (NORMA) WAS THE LADIES NATIONAL PPC CHAMPION ONE YEAR (1997 IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY).
VERY GOOD AMMO REASONABLY PRICED AND HAVE RE MANUFACTURED AMMO ALSO TO SAVE MONEY

My two cents. If you are shooting nothing less then 9s, at 25 yards, then it’s time to worry about ammo. If not, Winchester White Box should tell you where you are.
