MONTHLY AP LEAGUE, February 2020

Post by siordian1 »

OK, lets get it started. Lets see how many of us can post a score each month. Thanks

For anyone who has not shot before.

Shoot as you would normally, most if us shoot, single hand, open sight at 10 meters.

Don't have a 10 meter range, no problem, shoot a reduced size target. They can be found on this site. Just let us know on your post.

Just getting started or getting older and need two hands and optics? Again, not a problem, just let us know and we will note that on the report.

The goal here is fun and self improvement. We have many very good shooters, 560 and up. Many just getting started, don't let the higher scores keep you away. My goal is to improve, I may never shoot a 570, but at least I know I tried.

Thanks

I´ve had a Photostudio here in Germany since 1991. She also sorts Air Rifle

(Insert Sexy Swedish Bikini Sorter Girl here)

I cannot upload a pic, it says file too large (680kb too big?!?).

Shot the local NRA Sectional today.

I felt and shot in pathetic mode, even though I placed Second.

Anyway...

After “retiring” from shooting a while back due to health issues, I got myself much healthier, lost a bunch of weight, and in turn I got the itchy trigger finger again. Tired of cocking the FWB 90 between shots, so I picked up an old Walther CP1 in near-mint condition. Today was my first time shooting it, and I have to say ... I love it. A little heavier than the Pardini K60 that I am rebuilding, but the XL Rink grip is a perfect fit for these old mitts. Also I like the sights, which appear to be the same as on the old Walther Free Pistol from the ‘70s.

Anywho, although this first go is a far cry from my competition scores in the ‘80s — ‘00s, here’s my first offering in the February AP League:

Still trying to figure out what I'm doing to make the difference between an 81 and an 87 (other than losing 6 points).

Take 2:

Only a week from the Sectionals at the Citadel, lots of dry fire practice and stance refinement over the past week and a half. Seems to have yielded some improvement, but still struggling with maintaining focus ... the never-ending battle.

*final shot on this string felt amazing. I had a good hold, my focus was solid, the sight picture was sharp ... and the result was what we old-timers used to call a “pinwheel.” Now known as a 10.9 ...
