Sights alignment

Post by Akitaki »

Where do you guys align the sights?
At the peak of your rise, before lowering the gun or at the bottom in the aiming area (in this case they align more and more as they come down and they will be perfectly aligned when you reach the bottom).

Also, if they are not perfectly aligned do you fix it or abort the shot?

Thanks!

For precision, I come up in my lift just enough so I can't see the black, with the front sight slightly elevated so I don't have to hunt for it. I align them against the white of the target, and then lower down into my hold.

At ready position without looking. Abort if not good. I explain the exercise I make for this here: https://www.olympicpistol.com/pistol-ho ... d-balance/

From bench to slightly above target = I look at back of my hand, keep looking at back of my hand until I feel balanced and quiet

Then come slowly into sub-6 aiming area, start pulling trigger in this down drift

Once in sub-6, it is then full focus on FRONT SIGHT and follow through.

During this whole sequence, looking at back of my hand, feeling balanced and quiet is the most enjoyable part of the whole shooting sequence.
