Anschutz lp@ secondhand

Post by Akitaki »

Hi guys and Merry Christmas!

I'm shooting AP with a Fas 6004 but I wanted to upgrade to a pcp. I've found a secondhand Anschutz lp@ from 2006 for 650 € (~720$). It should be almost new, just one box of pellets through it (I'm not sure if I belive that since it has more than 10 years) and the cylinder is new. What do you guys think?

Lots of Steyr parts/repair around. Are the old cylinder(s) available? Are you prepared to buy SCUBA tank and fittings or just-as-expensive pump?

Why do you think a PCP is a upgrade (though 'most anything is an upgrade from 6004)?

It has another cylinder but I don't know how old...
Would new cylinders fit? Are they from Anschutz itself or from Steyr? Can't find much info on that...
I consider it an upgrade because at the moment the 6004 velocity is way down and with too many drops, it goes from 240 to 270 fps... I tried the mods suggested to no avail and send it back to Fas it's not going to be cheap and I have already done it once to fix some major issues when I bought it thirdhand. I don't want to spend more money on it.
I like SSPs but they are hard to find here in Italy and usually overused.

The LP@ is a Steyr LP10 with a few bells & whistles added by Anschutz:

Different barrel (no shroud), and different front sight/compensator block. I think the sight radius is a bit longer.

Different trigger (the Steyr one is better IMHO). Anschutz installed one of their rifle triggers, which has a very small shoe.

Added weight & rod system (can't put weights on the shroud anymore...)

Cylinders, O-rings, & other essential bits are all 100% Steyr compatible.

It's Wilson's 2nd favorite AP, behind his SSP Walther LPM1.

Too late... They sold it this morning...
The only other pistol I can afford at the moment is a matchguns mg1 (not mgh1) sold for around the same price...also secondhand
