USA Shooting Promotes Sharee Waldron to Chief Operations Officer
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (December 6, 2019)
USA Shooting is proud to announce the promotion of Sharee Waldron to the position of Chief Operations Officer. Waldron’s most recent role with USA Shooting has been as the shotgun team manager where she played a major role in the team’s record breaking 23 international medals in 2019 and the securing of all eight shotgun quota positions for the 2020 Olympic Games.
“After extensive discussions with the board of directors, collectively we decided to help move the organization forward by promoting Sharee,” said USA Shooting Interim CEO Bob Gambardella. “Her knowledge, skill and experience will assist me with the internal operations of the organization. Sharee’s reach and network throughout the industry is solid and rich in history. Without a doubt, she will help us build a strong infrastructure of policies, procedures and best practices to help USA Shooting in its approach to organizational efficiency and sustainability.”
Waldron brings a wealth of knowledge, skills, and lessons learned to the COO position from her previous career as a high school athletic director in Oregon, a career that ranged some 10-plus years and saw Waldron manage a multi-million dollar annual athletic budget with 27 programs, including the first high school shooting program in the State of Oregon. Working at a private high school, Waldron wore many hats and managed a variety of programs throughout her career including, fundraiser, mentor, leader, disciplinarian, counselor, and visionary, all very valuable assets for USA Shooting as the organization enters the most trying financial and organizational challenges it has seen since its inception in 1995.
“Every day we ask our customers, the athletes, to be world-class ambassadors and competitors for our sport. It seems only fitting the organization that is here to serve and support the athletes is world-class as well,” Waldron said. “My focus is bringing that world-class mindset to all of USA Shooting.”
