There's a lot going for the Daisy 717 and great fun getting back to basics. I recently took a similar journey, turning a sub $100 LOV 21 CO2 pistol into a decent club level shooter. 3D printed barrel extension with adjustable barrel weights, 3d printed adjustable palm shelf, 3d printed rear sight blade and a basic trigger job.

Actually shoots very well.
