Which SA RO for competition

Im looking to purchase a Springfield armory Range officer for Bullseye competition and would like opinions as to the best model to start with.

I would like one with a rail so that does narrow it down. The few I’m looking at are The Range officer operator P19131LP, Range officer operator elite P19131E, 1911 Loaded Lightweight Operator PX9116L18 .

I would also like to know if there are any advantages or disadvantages to the 1911 Loaded’s aluminum
Alloy frame other than the seven ounces over the forged steel frame of the standard RO.

There are some disadvantages to an aluminum frame. I have a Beretta. The differences between it, and my 1911 9mm are substantial. The rail may counteract that to some extent but you want a steel frame on a bullseye gun. You can tune your loads and spring, but more weight makes for better recoil control. Steel is just better all around for accuracy and durability.

I wouldn't get an aluminum framed 1911 for bullseye for the accelerated frame wear alone.

whether you go for 9mm or 45acp, stick to a steel frame.
I prefer carbon steel over SS, but that's me.
I like ed m's theory about finish "who cares how it looks, how does it shoot?"
