Avanti 887/888 Troubleshooting

One of my club's Avantis is malfunctioning - the bolt will not close.
Anyone have any idea how to fix it?

Take the action out of the stock and remove the pellet that someone dropped in the wrong opening -- instead of the chamber. Sometimes you can get it out by turning the rifle on its side or upside down and shaking it, sometimes disassembly is required. Not at all uncommon with beginning shooters, ours are in a 4-H program.
