When to get a better pistol?

Gregbenner: WRT rimfire - I would like to get better at FP as well, I have bought a Toz 35M and according to Gwhite, it's as good as it gets (I know my score with that one is far from decent). Yesterday I went to the range to try (with my son) a Ruger Precision rimfire. He seems to like it; if he keeps showing interest, I may get a decent rifle and get rid of the Ruger.

Gwhite: "it isn't the pistol holding you back" - Indeed. I can see lots of improvement with a dollar store +1 lens taped to my distance glasses (couldn't find the +0.75). I just realized that the article on vision you have linked to other posts is written by a Dr. with a studio in SF. My prescription glasses need to be updated anyway, so it seems a good opportunity to pay him a visit.
About the electronic trigger, I am not a luddite (until last year, I happened to work on sats as well), but I enjoy tinkering with mechanical parts. The company where I work has a full shop that I can use for manufacturing metal and wood parts.

I fought this question for years and years.... I shot a Daisy 777 for over 20 , and did reasonably well with it. For some reason I convinced myself I needed a PCP pistol. After I got my hands on it, I realized I waited too long. If you have the budget, buy it, spoil yourself. I bet only 1 % of Ferrari owners can ever approach the limits of their cars. Shoot a Ferrari, it does your psyche wonders......

I have been saying this for years....however many people have a need within their DNA to analyse everything WAAAY too much. The side effect of obsessive analysis is reduced pleasure.

Seems to be the case for many gimgim.....however endlessly analysing whether I should buy a top level pistol that will not impact negatively on the family budget is not part of my modus operandi.

Buying a top level pistol and then seeking understand its technical complexity is another matter.

If I sit and ponder things like “whether to buy or not to buy” I would nod off.....but please understand that is just me

Update: Ended up buying an Evo 10 (mechanical). Just unboxed it; I may get a Rink grip for the meaty paw, but the follow through is unreal. The pistol just stays in the same place after the shot.
