Alternative Pardini front sight design

Post by Dipnet »

Here is a revised front sight design that seems simple enough to make with right machining set up. The orientation of the front sight is reversed (left side is the front end) thereby shortening the overall length, which would yield nearly an inch in additional distance between front and rear iron sights. Image and concept are self-explanatory, I think. dipnet

That is more likely to get disturbing glares in the front sight than the original one. The reason why the sight radius is limited is ISSF rules.

Standard pistol
Rapid fire pistol
Free pistol

The gun was developed for ISSF events. These rules allow a maximum of 22cm distance between front and rear sights.
That is why the triangle is in that position.

If the competition you are entering doesn't enforce this rule, then an L shape front sight would work better IMO.

Hope this helps
