Morini 162 EI problem

Post by Silvershooter »

My pistol suddenly ceased to function last night.
When I cock the pistol and lower the cocking lever into the firing position it does not engage the trigger mechanism, therefore it will not fire.
Electronics are working fine, solenoid clicks OK.
Any ideas ?
TIA

Sounds like the striker is not setting as you pull/open the loading lever.
Can you feel the striker spring load follow/push the loading lever forward
as you close the loading lever.
If the striker is staying cocked then the solenoid impact is not enough to
release the sear.
Need to pull it apart and check/clean the striker and check the sear.

Yes it pushes back against the loading lever, the striker does not stay cocked/compressed.
Which part is the sear ? I have the mechanism off the pistol now.

Now fixed
Took the sear parts out cleaned it around the area where they go,.took it apart and back together again so many times I lost count, but suddenly started working again. I will order new sear parts and striker to be sure.

Why ?
Good point, found out the tiny sear costs GBP 70 , same for the striker/hammer.

Problem has reapeared

Have replaced the sear and hammer/striker with new ones but the sear will not engage the hammer.
Checked the schematics for correct assembly - totally baffled.

Any ideas ?

OK definitely fixed now, the pin through the cocking lever was not properly driven through so the lever was coming up against the pivoting bolt preventing it from cocking.

You dropped $200 because you have a screw loose?

I sometimes think you NEED to have a screw loose to keep torturing yourself in this sport for decades on end...

I think loading lever worn out
adhere a thin metal plate behind bolt(=nozzle)
to raise the stroke of striker

Thanks ike,
It turns out the problem was the steel pin that goes through the loading lever had worked it's way out and was hitting the loading lever pivot bolt preventing cocking.
Nice diagrams.
