Target Distance

For the longest time I have been using a home set up for AP practice. You know the type ..through one room, through another and into a third.

Well I REALLY thought I measured correctly but I did not. It ended up being 31 feet. At 31 feet I can keep my spotting scope, pellet holder, etc all set up and I can shoot with a minimum of set up time.

However...33 feet falls right in the middle of my dinning room table and the is no way that that 33 will work out for me. Got the thumbs down from the range master in keeping the scope set up on the table etc, etc.

Now I can go to 35 feet can be clear of the table and would have to set up the spotting and use the table as my "bench" with an appropriate protective covering.

Question/advice: Is it worth just staying and the 31 feet that I have been using or switch to the 35 feet?

I guess that the click difference is maybe 1 or 2 from 31 to 33 and I am certainly NOT a master shooter where the click will make a real difference anyway.

It's all between the ears. Psychological or philosophical, take your pick. If training for competition, the 35 ft distance would (could?) build confidence that 33' will not be a problem. But, for some, the 31' distance is good enough. I don't think the internet can answer this one.

31 would be fine and probably nil to a bee's dick in sight change. If you can group at 31 you will do the same at 33.

10 meters is really 32 feet and 9.7 inches anyway. So your 31 feet is closer than 35.

I'll guess half a click difference!

Have you measured target distance at all of the ranges where you shoot?

You could be closer than you think.
