Post by DFWdude »

In what year of production was the fixed bolt roller replaced with the revolving bolt roller (bushing)?

Thanks, flolo. That's good to know. I'm waiting on delivery of a 2012 version, so it should have the newer, roller bolt. Thanks again.

Seems like an odd time to release a new pistol, 5 months away from the Olympics...

What did they change?

Agree completely... unless a few of the elite shooters on the Steyr "list" have been quietly shooting a prototype of the new model for some time.

Alternatively, from a PR/Marketing standpoint (I worked in both for 30-years at corporations you would instantly recognize), it makes sense to unwrap the "new" pistol AT the Olympics, even if no one is shooting it AT the Olympics. Perhaps a "few weeks" actually will be a few months...

Olena Is shooting a normal lp10.

The electronic trigger should have come 18 months ago and then it turned out that it was not perfect and they delayed it.
This time is true..,just few weeks left....and should be a big surprise

the PR things makes sense. i think walther also did something similar with their LP400 unveiling it just before the London Olympics.

IWA is in March, which is far and away the biggest sales fair in this business. Nobody sells anything at Olympic games. Any further questions as to the timing?
