Model 41 S&W
Am thinking of purchasing a S&W Mod 41 22lr. Any thoughts on the current production model vs. an older version?
Re: Model 41 S&W
Yeah, the older ones are lower priced.
Re: Model 41 S&W
Greetings,
The real old one's had hand lapped barrels.
These would be the ones from the early 1960's.
Cheers,
Dave

Old and you can a lot done to bring them back to life but old ones have far superior triggers.

Westporter,
Have you considered buying a new, complete Model 41 from Clark Custom Guns? After taking delivery, all that you will have to do is
mount the dot sight of your choice onto it. No further modifications of any kind will be needed; it's ready to go! See it at:

I'm very pleased with a 1968 lower/Clark upper.
The Clark upper is relatively new and requires a bit of oil on the case to get through a magazine, but it is *laser beam* accurate.

I've been using the same M41 since the early 80's. It needed a tweak or two and has been back to the factory once (recently). I've been pleased; I shot it in the Arizona State Championship today (and tomorrow) with decent scores and no alibis.

Re: Model 41 S&W
I'm looking for a 41 myself. Will send to Clark. Been real happy with my Clark Ruger MKIII, can only get better with a Clark 41.
Re: Model 41 S&W
Happy with my current M41 w/cocking indicator. But it had to go back to factory so all 4 barrels would function uniformly. Some mention about "bolt face" had to be compatible with changes in manufacturing. Was worth the trouble to send it back to it's maker. I wish the trigger was crispy like my HS Victor; however, it is predictable.
