FWB mod 80 barrel weight

Post by jerber »

For those of you who used(or still use)the fwb 80
Did you ever use it with the weights on?
If so how many? And how do you feel it helped?
Back in my days(early 80's)
The shooting club was going to buy a model 80 for me to use but they end up getting me a model 65
At the time the model 80 was somewhat new and they were good/bad feeling about it
So I'm trying to figure out if I need to think about using them at all

I use one weight on mine. The whole line 65,80 and 90 are fine shooting pistols.I have all three. The 65 and the 90 I have are the shorter barrel versions. To me I think they point a little quicker that the longer barrel 80. The 65 I have also has the factory barrel weight. Cocking them 60 times in a match can sometimes become a little redonent. Enjoy them.

I was shooting today for the 3 rd time with the fwb 80
The first couple of time I did not have any weights on it
Then today I put all 3 just to feel the difference
I have to say that I was more stable with the weight on
But after 60-80 shots my arm was feeling it!
Next time I will take 1 or 2 of the weights off and see if makes any difference
