pm messages advise ?

I have sent a couple of pm,s .
it comes up as successfully sent but it does not show as message sent ,it shows as message is in my outbox , is this a glitch ????
I have sent message to moderator but have same result, so I don't know if they are actually sent or are stuck in my outbox.

The system seems to be working perfectly, including the system email advising of a pm.

Messages will stay in your outbox until they have been read by the recipient.
