Red dot mounting on 10 meter pistols

I'm currently shooting in a league for aging eyes. They allow open sights and red dots. I'm currently shooting a Izzy (nose heavy) and would like to move to a lighter PCP 10 meter pistol like FWB, Morini, Pardini, Steyr, Walther, Hammerli.

Is there any scope mounts available for these higher caliber air guns?
If there is some that clamp to the barrel tube, does that effect the accuracy?

These are for the 5 shot repeaters, but I suspect one or the other will fit an LP10.

I´m not sure the other bands offer something similar, but I may be wrong...

If I was to clamp a red dot to an air pistol I would probably try to use the holes for the rear sight to screw some type of adapter.
I would not clamp it in the barrel. They are normally held in place with small screws. It would be too much weight.

I have a Burris FastFire III mounted on my Steyr LP50 for bullseye practice. It is very light, but I did just as RMCA said, and made a mount that replaces the rear sight. I'm sure it's similar to the one Pilkguns sells, only mine is quite short because the sight is tiny.

ok, thanks guys! It looks like once I decide on a air pistol brand, I'll just have to see whats available or improvise. I guess clamping one to the barrel sleeve would make it nose heavy like the Izzy.

Hi Jok, I really believe that after you choose your next 10M airpistol purchase;

please give serious consideration to visiting your favorite Ophthalmologist and

get a prescription for eye correction that enables you to perfectly resolve your

front sight. Chances are that even with your aging eyes, you will be able

to compete with open sights.

How old are you? I'm 72 going on 73, and I can resolve the front sight perfectly

with sight correction(horrible astigmatism in 2 axes. I have several 37mm lenses for my Varga frames,

one for air pistol and one for free pistol shooting.

For NRA conventional pistol I have the appropriate single prescription lens

set into an older glasses frame. This way you can shoot the 10M AP event

complying with legal competition rules. Of course, you can ignore my suggestions

which is a valid choice for club shooting.
