Actually the dealer in Germany is highly unlikely to do it for you, because if there is a screw up it is on them. not the seller. I have tried it before, and the biggest headache for a gun store is that they have to deal with the export taxes (ie. accounting). They set up their shops to do export their own merchandize, not not for someone else. A famous gun store owner once wrote me back and explained the complication. In fact, sometimes he has to have his employees drive to the Czech republic to ship them out. I ended up asking a friend in Germany to send it to me as a gift. But that is for accessories and air pistol or rifle. When it comes to actual firearms, you will need an exporter in Germany who works for you, and then an importer from the USA to work for you. For the USA side it is possible that a regular FFL dealer can do the import for you, the law allows them to do so as long as it is not a regular occurrence. Of course there is also the matter of your dealer understand the process, sometimes it takes three to four months. A specialist importer will do the work for you, charge you a handsome fee, then send it to your FFL.Leon wrote:Just ignore them when they say "No International Shipping". It's only because they do not want to go through the export process.
Explain to them that you have a dealer in Germany who will do the export and all they have to do is to send the gun to them - the problem or reluctance disappears.
Kriegeskorte will do the export to the USA for you..
The process of purchasing a firearm from a firearm store in Europe and then import it to the United States can usually cost more than the pistol itself, since everyone in the chain will take a piece of the pie. The store, the exporter, the Government customs, the importer, and your own FFL, your Government again (DROS), and your state Government (state tax). The rule of thumb is when you see an item you like, the actual amount is twice the cost. If you get the item from an auction house, it is even more (20-25% commission). So those of you who want to purchase that very special Isch-1 prepare to empty your bank account. Finally it will take 3 to 4 months to arrive if you are not lucky.
