H&N Pellets

Hi all

I ordered 10 tins of H&N finale AP match pellets to use with my Morini air pistol. I picked them up last Saturday and fired off 40 pellets when I got home (only 40 - well I had to mow the lawn). It was only on the Sunday that I noticed on the front of the tins that it said "Rifle". I noticed a distinct feel of quality when I picked the pellets up to lower into my pistol compared with the cheaper ones I'd been using, the fourth target I shot at gave me the best grouping I've ever produced - 8 pellets in 1 hole and 2 to its left side. Would you continue using them or would you take them back - 60 mile round trip to the shop and back? I Just basically want to know the difference between H&N air pistol and rifle pellets

When you asked this question yesterday, Rover gave you a sarcastic reply because the topic has been exhausted many times over on this forum. As he suggested (not in the nicest way), do a search. Try searching for "pellet test" or something similar. You'll get more information than you dreamed possible, as well as the simple answer for AP: it doesn't matter.

Hello Tommy
the only difference between a pellet for rifle and one for gun is the weight.
Those from gun are lighter because they should have a travel time in the barrel less, to be less influenced by broader movements of the arm.
Many shooters on my team have used for years by shotgun pellets with excellent results.

Pistol pellets are lighter in weight. But all that matters is how they shoot in your gun. One lot of pistol pellets might shoot better or worse than the next lot of rifle pellets.
Being heavier, the rifle pellets will have a bit more recoil.

There will be no difference in recoil. The same energy is put out by the gun, the pellets being slightly heavier, just travel slightly slower.

As most have said above, stick with them, it really makes no difference.
